Though it can be some trouble for those who like to sleep late, it is possible to make a day trip to Montreux from Torgon and manage to see some of the sights.
Montreux, located around 32 kms away from Torgon, is a picturesque town on the shores of Lake Geneva. Known for its rich and famous visitors, the annual jazz festival held here also attracts a lot of musicians and rock stars.
They even celebrate a Freddie Mercury Montreux Memorial Day (the 10th in 2012) and there also is a 20 foot bronze statue of Freddie Mercury on the Lakeside Promenade Fleuri.
Other notable rock trivia is the song “Smoke On Water” by Deep Purple was supposed to have been inspired by a fire in the Montreux Casino theatre

Take the 7.08 am Train to Montreux from Aigle
The Aigle to Montreux train ride takes around 20 minutes
